Situated atop a century-old building near Central Park, the E 88 St penthouse renovation required precision and expertise to navigate its unique challenges. ReiSource began by employing Matterport and LiDAR scans to capture site conditions in meticulous detail, providing a comprehensive understanding of the existing environment. Our deviation studies bridged the gap between the design development phase and the complexities of the physical structure, aligning all stakeholders with the project’s objectives. This initial groundwork allowed us to approach each phase of the project with clarity and confidence.
The phased modeling process, beginning at LOD 300 and advancing to LOD 400, ensured that all structural, architectural, and MEP systems were seamlessly integrated. We tackled significant challenges such as slab openings and penetrations through steel and concrete, using proactive modeling and coordination to minimize collisions and avoid delays. Our ability to anticipate and resolve these issues early was pivotal in maintaining momentum and achieving the project’s milestones.
Collaboration among the architects, contractors, and engineers was key to the project’s success. ReiSource facilitated regular coordination meetings and issued detailed construction documents to ensure that design updates were reflected accurately and efficiently.
